On December 10, in Europa House, First Step Georgia held an event dedicated to donors, partners, supporters and friends of the organization, whose support and assistance is so vital for children and if not them, First Step Georgia could not have been so successful and could not have implemented the most significant projects and programs it has been implementing for more than 17 years. The event covered following activities: bull; An art exhibition (trade fair) of our childrens work; bull; A film presentation regarding a new initiative by First Step Georgia - bull; A brief analysis of activities First Step Georgia conducted during 2015 and a presentation regarding plans and challenges in 2016; bull; A joint campaign between FSG and Georgian Rugby Union was announced which will take place in 2016 and Georgian Rugby players will become main supporters of FSG. Mr. Milton Haig, Head Coach of Georgian Rugby Team, also attended the event and welcomed the involvement of Georgian rugby players in the campaign supporting a social integration of children with special needs and offered a full support to the aforementioned campaign. Children with profound and severe mental and physical disabilities will receive services of specialists at home to develop their psychological, social, self-care and communication skills. According to the Agency, the parents of the children with disabilities were provided with this news by Nino Odisharia, the Head of Social Department of MoLSHA. Based on her information, above mentioned pilot program will enable us to see the essential needs of the children better and create all necessary conditions for their development. The meeting was also attended by the founder of First Step Georgia Nino Kadagidze. It should be noted that the organization has been providing HBC services since 2009 to the children with profound and severe mental disabilities. The pilot program includes service provision by the following specialists: a care giver, speech therapist, specialist of development, occupational therapist, psychologist and pediatrician. HBC pilot program will be available for children aged 7-18. The program was presented in two parts including 2 musical compositions by Beethoven and 4 by Chopin. The concert was a sold-out, the pianist was encored several times and performed musical composition in addition. Opening remarks were made by Mr. Giorgi Akhalaia, Director of First Step Georgia , and Mr. Sandro Shelia, Tatia Sharangias husband and the Founder of newly-founded Fund Nateli Sakartvelo . The event had a deep resonance in mass media and was covered by all the leading broadcasting companies in Georgia.
